Principal's Message
Greetings!
"The Madura College (Autonomous), Madurai, managed by Madura College Board, is one of the leading and most sought-after educational institutions offers many UG and PG courses. Our vision is to produce disciplined, competent, spiritually, socially committed and morally upright students through quality education and research. The college which had a humble beginning in 1889 has got 3000 plus students and 250 plus staff members on roll as we complete 130 years of yeomen service. What comes to my mind is that ‘success comes to those who work hard and do not rest on the laurels of the past’.
The world today is changing at an accelerated pace and as educators we need to pause and reflect on this entire system of education. Are our colleges wellequipped to prepare our students to face the challenges that the future holds? Questions such as these are the factors that motivate us to go through continuous process of reflection. Hence, we at the Madura College work at implementing a well-balanced curriculum to ensure that the students who walked into our college will not just love the college years but truly be prepared to face the challenges in life.
Aristotle once said that “educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all”. Even as we import education to match the advancement in technology and the globalisation, we march our students ahead with Madura College ethos, values and principles. We endeavour constantly to instil these qualities in our students. We pride ourselves to help them grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizens of the future. We are fortunate that we have a committed office bearers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, JointSecretary, Treasurer and Directors), supportive management and dedicated staff members taking the institution forward continually.
At The Madura College, we all have been enjoying this journey of re-living and re-discovering the magic of learning with our students !
Dr.J.Suresh
